Who we are
Raindance ("we", "us", "our") operates Rain Dance Festival at https://raindancefestival.au. This policy describes how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

How we manage personal information (APP 1)
We have practices, procedures and systems to manage personal information in an open and transparent way. This policy is updated when our practices change. The current version was generated automatically from our active tracking configuration; the date of last update appears at the bottom of this page.
What we collect (APP 3)
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our activities. The categories below describe what each enabled tool and active form collects.
Information you provide via forms
When you submit a form on this site, we collect the information you choose to enter for the purpose described on or near that form. The following forms are currently active:
- Volunteer Applications at
/apply/volunteer-raindance— used for processing your volunteer application. Collects: name, email address, phone number, emergency contact details, preferences and selections, consent acknowledgements, free-text responses you choose to provide. - Musician Applications at
/apply/artist— used for processing your musician application. Collects: name, email address, phone number, emergency contact details, preferences and selections, free-text responses you choose to provide. - Market Stall Applications at
/apply/market-stall— used for processing your market stall application. Collects: name, email address, phone number, emergency contact details, preferences and selections, consent acknowledgements, free-text responses you choose to provide. - Performer Applications at
/apply/performer— used for processing your performer application. Collects: name, email address, phone number, emergency contact details, preferences and selections, free-text responses you choose to provide. - Newsletter Signup at
/_inline/newsletter— used for Rain Dance Festival newsletter subscription. Collects: name, email address.
We only retain form submissions for as long as is reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, after which the data is securely deleted or de-identified. You may request access, correction or deletion of any submission you have made -- see "Access and correction" below.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with: (a) hosting and technology providers that operate our infrastructure under contract; (b) professional advisors (lawyers, accountants, auditors) where engagement requires it; (c) law-enforcement or regulatory bodies where required or authorised by law. Specific overseas disclosures arising from analytics tools are covered in the cross-border section above.
Access and correction (APP 12 & 13)
You can request access to or correction of any personal information we hold about you. Contact us at the address above. We will respond within a reasonable period (usually 30 days). If we cannot provide access, we will explain why in writing.
Children
Our services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please contact us so we can delete it.
Direct marketing (APP 7 & Spam Act 2003)
If we send you commercial electronic messages, every message will identify the sender and include a working unsubscribe mechanism. You can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first using the details at the top of this page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
